Parecchi anni fa (sicuramente piu' di quindici)avevo una cassettina di billy joel che avevo praticamente consumato a furia di ascoltarla ... poi devo averla prestata a qualcuno e non ho piu' ascoltato niente di billy joel fino a qualche mese fa' quando ho trovato in cd proprio il disco di quella cassetta ... e ho scoperto che tra i musicisti c'erano fior fiore di artisti come ron carter e michael brecker (che all'epoca non avevo minimamente idea di chi fossero) ... ancora adesso comunque non disdegno di ascoltare qualche chicca come "code of silence" con cyndi lauper o "baby grand" con ray charles o "big man on mulberry street" ...
... dimenticavo ...
il disco si chiama "The bridge"

Me l'ha fatto conoscere mia zia, musicofila sfegatata. Le mie preferite sono "Honesty", "Uptown Girl", "Shades of Grey", "Only the good die young"  (ha un testo divertentissimo, che sfotte senza pietà lo stupidissimo moralismo provinciale americano, con invocazioni audaci ad una puritanissima ragazza di nome Virginia  ). Bellissima voce e grande talento musicale, anche se non è proprio il mio genere: peccato quel vizio degli incidenti stradali...
